The Knight series was designed and manufactured using drive units and components built in-house, from the ground up - only possible because of our world-class research and development.

In most loudspeaker designs, room modes are easily excited by forward or rear-firing reflex ports, which can cause resonance and a resulting 'boom' at particular bass frequencies. Whilst giving an impression of an impressive bass response, this boom frequency masks all others making bass indistinct and slow.

Detail and neutrality are of utmost importance when building a loudspeaker, an evident characteristic shown throughout the design and construction of the Knight series.

Using a rigid yet light mixed-fibre cone material in the bass driver makes it fast enough to track the most complex score and its unique 'TPT' (Twin-Pipe Technology) transforms the performance of all its floorstanding speaker models, using the internal volume of the cabinet to extend the bass response without using unruly reflex ports. The fluid-cooled soft dome tweeter enhances power handling and control of coil movement. A rigidly braced rear chamber protects the ribbon from the influence of the bass drivers.

Three identical bass/midrange drivers incorporate dual-magnet motor systems to prevent distortion by establishing a stable, focused magnetic field. The front-mounted reflex port beneath the woofers allows placement of the speakers flush very close to the rear wall. DALI

MENTOR 8 is the largest of the MENTOR Series. Like all of the MENTOR’s, it features low loss paper/woodfibre drivers and the MENTOR Hybrid Tweeter Module. The newly developed drivers ensure that the listener will experience the subtlest musical details, even at low listening levels.

The curved front and rear sides of the cabinet will effectively reduce cabinet resonance and vibration for the highest possible sound quality. The lacquered sandwich baffle, which is glued to the main cabinet, will prevent vibration from reaching the main cabinet. Thereby the cabinet is even more inert to disturbing vibration from the drivers.

Essentially MENTOR 8 is a three-way bass reflex speaker with two 8" bass woofers a 6.5” midrange driver and DALI´s proprietary ribbon/soft dome hybrid tweeter module. In fact it is more a three-and-a half-way design, as the dome and the ribbon do not cover the same frequency range.

The new Epos M16i is a floor-standing 2 ½ - way speaker which excels in accuracy, dynamics, imaging and poise. This speaker was designed to be equally dynamic in a two-channel or home theatre application. The result is a loudspeaker with deep bass, a fast dynamic sound and very high power handling. The profiled baffle has been perfected to optimise dispersion: the narrow base working with the inverted driver geometry to produce a good response as wide as 70 degrees from the central axis. The tweeter wave-guide integrates perfectly into the front baffle assembly, closely coupled, yet acoustically isolated from the Parawave cone bass driver with iridium phase plug.  Internally the same principles continue:- the low profile chassis legs reduce ‘through-cone’ reflection. Cast from aluminium alloy, they are light and strong. The tweeter heat-sink wicks heat away from the ferro-fluid cooled voice coil to maintain a constant temperature and reduce thermal compression. The Alpha T1 is associated as our entry-level tower only by its price. Expect to be amazed at its distinct performance ability, with brilliant highs and pronounced bass. Our engineers began by designing and building each speaker from scratch, so that we could deliver the same level of performance typically found on speakers twice the cost. Dual 5.25-inch woofer paired with a .75-inch ferrofluid-cooled tweeter form a D'Appolito array for increased on- and off-axis response while yielding unusually wide dispersion.

The elegant appearance of this compact, floor-standing loudspeaker is enhanced by an integral aluminium plinth, featuring ‘top configurable’ floor spikes for precise, easy adjustment. The class-leading sound quality from its long throw, 165mm bass driver and 25mm polyester weave tweeter can be further optimised by adding sand to the special compartment built into the base of the cabinet.

Q ACOUSTICS

The exquisitely proportioned flagship of the 1000i Series, the 1050i is both sonically and aesthetically enhanced by its integral aluminium plinth with ‘top configurable’ floor spikes. Twin 165mm drivers deliver exceptional bass extension and midrange clarity for both music and high energy movies. The overall sonic performance of this outstanding loudspeaker belies its affordable price.

QUAD

The 21L2 uses the same drive unit components as its smaller 12L2 brother, with a crossover appropriately tuned.. As a floor-standing model, the 21L2 is capable of better bass extension than the stand-mount versions, going down to around 35Hz at the bottom end.

Fast and agile, the 21L2 is one of the most musical loudspeakers in its class, capable of following fast moving bass-lines, whilst retaining full composure throughout the mid-range and upper registers.

Leading the L2 series range is the 22L2. With a huge dynamic range and frequency bandwidth, it offers class-leading perfomrance throughout the frequency spectrum.

Bass response bottoms out at an impressive 30Hz. When positioned exactly 350mm from a rear wall, the in-room response is flat to this level, with no compromise of the mid-range or high-frequencies.
